ABSTRACT

The school principal is the major facilitator of school reform, the person responsible for getting things right for the kids who need help to make it through. Every school has some students who are unprepared to live successfully within the school’s instructional practices and demands and/or its regulations. To accomplish the National Education Goal of graduating 90 percent of all students and reduce the current national dropout rate of 25 percent, we must prevent educational failure at all school levels (National Education Goals Panel, 1993, p. 2).
