What could a book on the psychology of mathematics be about? Most people know psychology is concerned with how people learn, with how they perform tasks, and with how they develop. But few think of psychology as being concerned with special areas of interest such as mathematics, the social sciences, or any other subject taught in the schools. It is partly because people are puzzled by the notion of a psychology of mathematics that this book was written.
