ABSTRACT

Most people, no matter whether Western or Oriental, probably spend most of their time and energy adorning their faces as opposed to other parts of their bodies. That is to say that we may tolerate some stains on our bodies, but we would certainly clean any spots on our faces. Moreover, as we know, four of the five human senses—seeing, smelling, hearing, and tasting—are centered together on the face. No wonder the face is so important to most races of people. Therefore, we may be able to say that Westerners and Orientals are the same in that both are so strongly concerned with having regular facial features.
