ABSTRACT

Mounting an exhibition is a considerable undertaking, the magnitude of which depends, of course, on how big the exhibition is. Whatever the size of the project, it is a salutary exercise to consider the capacity of the exhibition team in relation to the total floor area to be fitted out. When the time it takes to renew or replace the whole of the exhibition has been worked out, unless the team has more money and other resources than most are blessed with, it will become obvious that some thought should be given to the policy to be followed, especially to the balance between minor projects involving the titivation or replacement of individual exhibits and major ones involving renewal of whole sections of the exhibition, be they large or small. We consider this balance in Chapter 17.
