ABSTRACT
FOR nearly two centuries now the firm of Greenall has been prominent in the St. Helens brewing trade, and today theirs is the town’s only remaining brewery. Though they eventually surpassed all their rivals and achieved a much more than local trade, in their early days they had many competitors in the immediate neighbourhood.
