ABSTRACT

Despite all the effort put into the preparation, organization and realization of this seminar, it cannot provide full answers to the questions posed by the war in former Yugoslavia, since for that the people who bear responsibility for the aggression against Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina should also be sitting here. I would like to see such people as Andrija Raseta or Milutin Kukanjac at seminars like this. We see Belgrade and the JNA as the main culprits, but the accused are not in a position to give their assessment of the events of 1991-95.1 have been to several international seminars, and in every case one of the 'warring parties'1 was absent, which meant also an absence of academic objectivity. Since we too made mistakes and bear part of the responsibility for the war in what was until recently our common homeland, I have to say how glad I am that on this occasion we have heard considerable criticism of what happened in our own countries. But enough of that, and to work.
