ABSTRACT

Developing materials for a Web-based learning event differs little from developing any other type of learning event, as the Web is only a delivery tool. The traditional systems approach model for designing instruction such as the one developed by Dick and Carey (1978) is effective in ensuring that all the various parts of a typical learning event work together towards a well-defined goal - that of producing effective instruction. This chapter briefly describes each of the steps to be carried out if you are to design an effective Web-based learning event.
