ABSTRACT

Self-esteem involves how you think and feel about yourself: Do you really know who you are? Do you like yourself? Do you feel competent? Do you sec yourself as worthwhile and okay? Violence and abuse always affect self-esteem in a negative way and indicate that self-esteem is a problem. People with high self-esteem tend to be respectful and nonabusive with others. No one has them all, but they can offer some ideas for you if you want to pinpoint areas to work on in improving your own self-esteem.
