Bley, N.S. and Thornton, C.A. (1995) Teaching Mathematics to Students with Learning Disablities (3rd edn). Austin: ProEd. This is an excellent resource for regular class teachers, support teachers and tutors. While having sufficient theory and research underpinning it, the text is almost entirely devoted to practical suggestions for making mathematics easier to learn for the hard-to-teach student. Unlike many books on teaching mathematics to students with learning difficulties, this text devotes a great deal of attention to the important topic of problem-solving.
