Children with Physical Disabilities, Medical Conditions and Communication Difficulties

For some children learning experiences will be affected by communication difficulties, physical disabilities or medical conditions. There is an increasing number of these pupils to be found in mainstream schools. In many cases, knowledge of the child's condition needs to be gained from parents, medical practitioners and, in some cases, other professionals concerned with them. A basic knowledge of the medical and physical conditions of children in their classes is essential to teachers, as is information on the educational implications.
