ABSTRACT

In primary or secondary school classrooms the responsibility for providing a challenging curriculum can be taken by individual teachers or by teams of teachers working together. The latter is likely to be more productive and beneficial for pupils over a period of time, especially if such provision is integrated into schemes of work or yearly teaching programmes at a particular Key Stage. The NNS, through the yearly teaching programmes for Reception to Year 9, offers teachers long-term planning schedules, which can be used to construct medium- and short-term plans.
