ABSTRACT
This chapter is directed towards teachers and schools just beginning to provide for the needs of gifted and talented pupils. It will:
offer help in formulating a pragmatic definition of the term ‘gifted and talented’;
set out matters that should be considered in developing a scheme or school plan;
look at organisational structures for provision;
indicate resources, other than curriculum materials, available to the teacher.
