Working with pupils and families

Working with pupils and their families is at the heart of the role of the Learning Mentor. By providing direct help in schools and access to a wider support network (if needed) the Learning Mentor can most certainly make a difference to the young person's chance of being successful. Spending time with individuals helping them to first identify their problems, then to accept them and finally to find ways of resolving them is the major contribution that a Learning Mentor can make.
