ABSTRACT
UNDER the circumstances, this rather unfortunate choice of words was writtenin 1942 by Buffalo’s Courier Express staff photographer I.Russell Sorgi (seeFigure 30). On his return from a regular shoot, Sorgi by chance decided not to drive along his usual route back to the office. He noticed a speeding police car and decided to follow. The trail led to the Genesee Hotel where a woman was sitting on an eighth-storey ledge.
