ABSTRACT
Psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, psychologists and those working in the field of mental health have developed nomenclature over the decades that identifies people according to types of disorder. Even though there is pressure to adopt one manual across all the professions—DSM IV or V—psychoanalysis has its own classical diagnoses: hysterical, obsessional, schizoid, depressive, and so forth.
