What Happens After the Sun Goes Out?

Suppose something rather sudden and final happens to the sun – so that one day it suddenly disappears? Not so much, of course, in a puff of smoke, but say, down a ‘wormhole’ or tear in the fabric of space-time itself. Anyway, it disappears.
