ABSTRACT
In a southern US state, a town is racked by continued freak weather, including hurricanes and droughts. The local evangelist gives a sermon on WKYTV, warning that the problem is too much loose living and bad behaviour. The Reverend Newman suggests that, instead, all decent people should come to his church the following Sunday and drink from a special vat of thick, red ‘moral cleanser’. But pointing his finger menacingly at the camera, the Rev. warns that any evil person who tries to drink the cleanser will be ‘eaten up’ inside and die within the month.
