ABSTRACT
After you’ve reviewed all the footage, created the rst assembly, thoroughly critiqued the lm’s basic structure, and more or less determined the best takes to use for each scene, you can begin the rough cut process. A rough cut is a version of the lm in which the full range of material and storytelling techniques are used to implement the goals decided after scrutinizing the assembly edit. No sequence is yet ne tuned, but the editor tries to make each scene occupy its right place and succeed dramatically. Do not be tempted to waste time nessing edits and sweating the ultra ne points yet.
