ABSTRACT
Physicians care about variables impacting health status. A physician’s concern is about the health of his or her patients. Any connection that can be demonstrated between clinical or administrative processes that enhance is generally viewed favorably by physicians. Physicians understand the concept of the “health of the community,” but prioritize the welfare of their individual patients more highly.67 Physicians are aware that their patients expect a safe, environmentally friendly healthcare setting. This chapter explores physician engagement through the lens of sustainability in a delivery setting where health information technology is new to the scene.
