ABSTRACT

So far, our concern has been to build up a picture of the planning activities of Coventry City Council in breadth, first from the point of view of the range of problems encountered and then from the point of view of the processes through which these problems were tackled. However, to obtain a fuller understanding of the difficulties facing the decision-makers, we will now find it necessary to select a few of the more far-reaching problems which came up for discussion during the period of our research, and to analyse them in rather greater depth.
