ABSTRACT

Vehicles are built from a very wide range of materials. This range includes metals such as steel and aluminium; natural materials such as wood and leather; and synthetic (man-made) materials such as PVC and GRP. The choice and the range of materials are constantly changing. Some materials like leather and wood are only found on premium quality cars because of the costs involved; other cars only use the lightest synthetic materials to help them go as fast as possible.
