ABSTRACT
This chapter describes some major characteristics of the structure of Swedish multinational companies. We shall present information illustrating the origins, size, expansion and field of operation of these companies. Most of the information has been collected by the Swedish government's Committee on Foreign Direct Investments and covers the 1965–78 period. Some of the figures have been subsequently updated on the basis of company balance sheets and other published statistics.
