ABSTRACT
In order to fulfi ll the purpose of research, we have to turn the raw data into information. Information consists of the meaningful conclusions formulated by ordering, summarizing, and analyzing the data. Information, not data, helps to guide social work practice. Data analysis, the focus of this chapter, is the process by which researchers turn data into information that can be used to determine the nature or cause of something in order to improve social work practice.
