ABSTRACT
A people’s revolutionary war is different from a conventional conflict. In a conventional war the combatants draw their supplies, support and manpower from two separate geographic areas. They then generally endeavour to wage war away from their respective populations. In a people’s revolutionary war the opposing sides share the same territorial base and the battle over which type of society is to predominate is fought amongst the people (Race 1972:227-30).
