ABSTRACT
This book aims to review and advance knowledge about criminal recidivism. An offender is a recidivist if he or she continues to offend. Generally, the most important recidivist offenders are those who are the most persistent, who commit large numbers of offences over long time periods. The most prolific of these are termed ‘chronic’ offenders.
