ABSTRACT
The aims of this chapter are to:
identify some of the principal pollutants that are causing problems at a global scale and investigate their causes and impacts;
examine the extent to which human activity is changing planetary systems, in particular the climate system; and
assess the contribution of the event industry to these pollutants.
