ABSTRACT

This second group of works on infinitesimal mathematics by Ibn al-Haytham deals with the calculation of the volumes of curved solids using the exhaustion method. There are three treatises of differing length by Ibn al-Haytham on this subject, and appearing in the following order:

Treatise on the Measurement of the Paraboloid

Treatise on the Measurement of the Sphere

Treatise on the Division of Two Different Magnitudes Mentioned in the First Proposition of the Tenth Book of Euclid.
