Sex equality is not enough for feminism book
M argaret M ead set up in a clear and general form the problem of the high valuation people put on men’s doings:
To decide whether women’s or men’s doings are genuinely more valuable, one would need to be able to look at the intrinsic character of the doings, aside from which sex does them. It might seem at first blush that just this attitude-what counts should be the character of the activity, not which sex does it-is fostered by equalitarianism, but I believe this is not so. The reasons stem from the intrinsic limitations of the concept of equality as a guiding ideal for feminism.
