ABSTRACT

The aim of this book has been to provide an overview of some of the methods and resources used in electronic text analysis, and to show how they can be explored to address three particular areas of study: literary texts, ideology and English Language Teaching (ELT). While a comprehensive overview of the many applications that electronic text analysis has in other traditions would be beyond the scope of this publication, the final chapter introduces a number of further key areas in which electronic text analysis is currently being used. These have been selected on the basis of the perceived relevance to the readership of this book. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of some future challenges for electronic text analysis.
