ABSTRACT

THEOLOGY BEGINS WITH GOD.THERE WOULD BE no justifiable God-talk were itnot believed that it makes sense to use the term ‘God’ in human speech, and that there are traditions of God-talk to which one can relate, and within which one can live one’s life. Most who refer to God believe that the word ‘God’ refers to a reality beyond the thought and experience of the speaker. ‘God’ names a reality within which one lives, moves and has one’s being. Religious traditions are therefore seeking to present in speech a reality to which adherents relate in their daily lives.
