ABSTRACT
We have seen that, for Nietzsche, the ‘old maids’ of scholarship and the technicist ‘breadwinners’ may belong to different regiments, but it is the same army. Both aim to make men ‘current’, both are hostile to ‘Nature’ and to ‘Life’. The critique of technicism implicit in his writings was developed in the last chapter; I now turn to his critique of Liberal Education.
