ABSTRACT

Bullies (people with sadistic personality disorder) are not in the DSM. Masochism was deleted from the DSM decades ago as well, although there has been a study group about it. In the psychoanalytic literature, sadism and masochism are amply covered in multiple articles about theory and the treatment of people who have such problems. Socially, bullying has become a national concern in the 21st century, and many social programs have been designed to try to curtail it.
