ABSTRACT
In the context of the debate on trade and its interaction with the environment, of significant importance is the issue of MEAs and the potential conflict that exists between the trade-related provisions contained in MEAs and those of the WTO agreements. The interaction between MEAs and the WTO agreements’ provisions has been of considerable concern to the operation of the WTO and its members since the inception of the WTO in 1995.
