ABSTRACT
Having reviewed the interaction of the WTO with global environmental measures and its own internal mechanisms for considering the environment, it is important to consider the actual interface of environmental measures with WTO provisions and the disputes that arise there out of – and the actions of the DSB in response to these disputes. In essence, the purpose of this chapter is to determine the capacity of the WTO to be an authoritative arbiter in the trade–environment arena at an international level.
