ABSTRACT

In this capstone chapter, we take a step back from the particulars of online learning in the different settings and applications discussed in chapters 3-8 to highlight some of the major themes running throughout the book. Building on these themes, we will conclude with a set of areas we judge ripe for research that could improve the design of online learning activities on the one hand and inform decisions about when and how to implement online and blended learning on the other.
