ABSTRACT
One semester, after I had recently integrated the use of a private Ning social network (see Chapter 5) into my online art appreciation class, I had a student come to me with an unexpected concern. That concern was an important moment for me, as it made me think more carefully about how my use of new technologies affected each student in different ways.
