ABSTRACT

This chapter offers a detailed account of both the scientific and economic aspects of global warming. This is the environmental problem of the twenty-first century, and as Sir Nicolas Stern, the highly noted British economist, put it ‘climate change is a result of the greatest market failure the world has seen’.This

chapter is written to fully capture the essence of this highly consequential claim. The chapter is rather long, the unintended outcome of my effort to provide a balanced and comprehensive coverage of the scientific, economic and international treaties aspects of global warming.
