ABSTRACT
In 1964, when the ten-year support by the Claims Conference came to an end, Kubovy the chairman launched an initiative aimed at increasing state funding of the institution. The outcome of the measure had not been expected by Kubovy and Yad Vashem Directorate at all, and shed light on the processes and mechanisms affecting Yad Vashem in general and Israeli Holocaust research in particular.
