ABSTRACT

Having written an abstract, planned and written a first draft, writers know that the article is still not finished. Rarely does an article simply need to be tidied and proofread. The usual way to think about the next stage of writing is to focus on ‘revising’ and ‘editing’. Revising usually signifies larger and more substantive changes to the text, while editing refers to the smaller detail of grammar, spelling, proofreading and general tidying.
