ABSTRACT

The downward spiral of hostilities that defines the Darfur crisis unfolded into a multiplicity of interaction conflicts—communal, local elite, center– periphery, and Cross-border, as examined in Chapters 3–6. Yet various stakeholders in the conflict, some in Sudan and others from the international community, actively pursued peacebuilding programs by creating venues for protagonists to address grievances and to establish conditions for long-term peace in Darfur.
