ABSTRACT

Google Inc. is one of the most popular and well-known companies in the world. According to Forbes’ “World’s Biggest Public Companies,” Google ranked number 120 out of 2,000 firms worldwide. Ninety-nine percent of Google’s revenue is derived from its advertising programs.1 Google is famous for its search engine (with its biggest competitors in 2012 being Bing and Yahoo!), but recently it expanded its operations by entering several new industries including smartphones (the android software system-a market dominated by Apple), Internet connection software (Google Chrome in competition with Microsoft Explorer and Mozilla Firefox), as well as the social networking industry (Google+ to compete against Facebook and Twitter).
