ABSTRACT
Pattern: parts and wholes.
Context: collective minds that are both inner-directed (able to make the internal connections that lead to a collective self), and outward-directed (combining with each other to become parts in a collective world) are the basis for a collective future.
Issue: the previous tradition of a divided mind has long impeded the development of a collective self.
Resolution: connecting inner-directed and other-directed collective minds allows the emergence of a collective identity.
Examples: finding an individual collective self through raising consciousness and individual adult learning.
