ABSTRACT

WHAT IS STABILISATION? 1 during a certain number of years. In the long run, however, even the most thorough-going co-operation would have been unable to stand the test of having to resist the constant pressure caused by the lack of equilibrium. The edifice of post-war stabilisation was bound to crumble sooner or later, and it was perhaps a blessing in disguise that the inevitable collapse was not postponed beyond 1931.
