ABSTRACT
A lot of people, they feel that the Makushi or the Amerindian culture is so inferior that they don’t want to have anything with it. They don’t want to associate themselves with it. Even with our youths down here. If you see that when they would call them buck boy, “Wh’appen there, buck boy?”, you know they feel offended, like, and they don’t feel proud of it, they don’t even want to associate themselves with that name.
