ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with issues about how knowledge is created and its relationship with practice. It is therefore also about the relationship between the researcher and their own knowledge, and with others in the research who are also creating knowledge, and with whom they make up a knowledge-creating community. Making these issues explicit involves thinking about the underpinning values and logics of practice, and how these are embedded within and inform new practices and encourage a view of practice as research-informed and evidence-based.
