ABSTRACT
In the afternoon of 26 April, 1937, planes of the German Luftwaffe Condor Legion bombed, without warning or declaration of war, the Spanish Basque town of Guernica. It was a Monday, market day in the small town, and many hundreds of civilians were slaughtered from the sky.
