ABSTRACT
The European Commission adopted the Agenda for a Sustainable and Competitive European Tourism in October, 2007.2 The purpose of the plan is to provide a frame - work for policies – within the tourism domain and in other policy arenas – to be developed in support of European tourism. The plan was based on input from a variety of sources including tourism industries, government, and the public at large. The ultimate goal was to provide added value to European tourism stake - holders.
