ABSTRACT

This chapter has been deliberately kept brief and non-technical to appeal to a broader readership. The aim is to provide government policymakers (at all levels), business leaders, university professors, students, managers in tourism organizations, and the general public with an introduction and examination of important policy processes in tourism. It helps explain the role that tourism policy plays in integrating economic, political, cultural, business, and environmental benefits of tourism to improve the global quality-of-life of visitors and local citizens.
