If you have not studied a.c. theory before, this introductory section has been designed to quickly get you up to speed. If, on the other hand, you have previously studied Electrical and Electronic Principles at level 3 (or its equivalent) you should move on to Chapter 26 where you will be introduced to some powerful techniques for analysing a.c. circuits.
