ABSTRACT

Sarah is a faculty member of sociology. Three years ago, she led a task force to integrate digital technologies into the scholarship and teaching of her department. She mapped the processes that needed to be changed, held professional development for faculty with the center for teaching and learning, and obtained an external grant to support a graduate student implementing the process and providing her some release time. She had a great deal of success and is now using those same techniques to integrate a multicultural initiative across the entire campus-with a goal of changing the campus culture. She obtained a grant, mapped the changes, and held professional development, but people have not showed up for the training and her graduate student cannot get responses from people. Literally, no one is responding. Unfortunately, she is not having the same success as before, so she is at a loss for what to do.
